Shed supplier finds Linde works best

Experience has shown shed manufacturer and retailer Best Sheds that Linde forklifts are definitely the right choice for this rapidly expanding company at all of its four sites across New South Wales. Its forklifts load and unload trucks, and move heavy steel coils and finished product six days a week.
“We manufacture all shed components,” Operations Manager, Steve Latham said. “Our range extends from 6m x 7m carports up to portal frame sheds 25m in width, by however long required.”
Our operators love the refurbished Linde equipment. The quality is brilliant and from the first day they were exposed to it our operators were impressed. There just isn’t any comparison with the used forklifts we had previously.
Best Sheds’ method of meeting its forklift needs has changed as the company grows. Like many companies, it finds forklifts essential, but second to manufacturing equipment.
Moving to Linde refurbished forklifts “was a big decision for Best Sheds, but it has worked well for us over the last two years,” Steve Latham said. “We now have two Linde 2.5 tonne gas forklifts, a 3.5 Linde gas forklift and a 5 tonne Linde gas forklift.
“We are actually in the process of purchasing another quality Linde refurbished 3.5 tonne forklift and Linde even help us out with trading in our old equipment. This makes the whole process easier and less time consuming, which allows me to focus on my main objective... Growing our business.
“Our forklift usage ranges from a couple which are busy for up to 90 percent of every day, and others which are just used sporadically throughout the day. All, especially the refurbished Linde machines, are completely reliable.
“The Linde machines do what we need, when we need them. Turn the key and they go. The five tonner is used to carry coils of steel from delivery trucks to our manufacturing, raw material and machine areas. The other Lindes make up flat-packs and load/unload trucks.
“Our operators love the refurbished Linde equipment. The quality is brilliant and from the first day they were exposed to it our operators were impressed. There just isn’t any comparison with the used forklifts we had previously.”
Compared to our other forklifts there really is no comparison with the Lindes when it comes to gas. They are much lighter on gas than any of our other forklifts.
Steve Latham puts the refurbished Linde forklifts’ success down to several factors, but points to the hydrostatic drive as a key reason. “We have some rough surfaces in the yards at our premises but Linde’s hydrostatic drive just seems to handle those conditions a lot better than other forklifts.
“Compared to our other forklifts there really is no comparison with the Lindes when it comes to gas. They are much lighter on gas than any of our other forklifts.”
“From my experience, Linde’s customer service is pretty impeccable really. I can ring my contact Tim Forgacs and just give a broad idea of what I’m looking for in a refurbished forklift,” Steve Latham said. “Within a couple of days, he’ll be back to me with some options and that makes the process very simple.
“As well as that, the refurbished forklifts offered to us really are as-new in their presentation and Linde’s service technicians are also top notch. We had previously tried three or four service organisations for our used forklifts without satisfaction.”
Best Sheds has been so impressed by the quality of work performed by Linde’s service technicians that it now has all of its forklifts serviced by the company.
“Linde keep track of our service records and if we a have an issue they are straight onto it,” Steve said. “Apart from routine servicing we haven’t had a problem with our refurbished Linde forklifts in two years, and the service of the other forklift brands in our fleet is first class. I can’t fault them.”
“Because of this experience, our long term plan is to switch over to Linde exclusively as our forklift supplier.”
