InterCentral Logistics has been partnering with Linde Material Handling to support their growing operations, particularly at their Cranbourne West site. Over the past year, this collaboration has highlighted Linde’s commitment to delivering tailored solutions that meet the demands of a high-volume, third-party logistics (3PL) provider.
Ashley Roberts, Warehouse Manager at InterCentral Logistics, shared, “Our journey with Linde started when we needed forklifts that could reach up to 10.5 metres.”
After researching and demoing the equipment, and following a recommendation from Victorian Territory Manager at Linde, Mia Whiteoak, it was clear that Linde could provide the quality and reliability they were after.
InterCentral Logistics operates four warehouses across Australia, including sites in Victoria, New South Wales, and Queensland. Their Cranbourne West warehouse features standard aisles fitted with tall racking, requiring equipment that can handle precision storage and retrieval tasks efficiently.
Ashley explained, “We knew that Lindes forklifts had a fine reputation. We needed forklifts that could reach up to 10.5 metres. After researching Linde’s history and reading positive feedback from other users, it became clear that Linde was the right choice for us.”
To meet these needs, the company added five Linde R16HD Series 115 Reach Trucks to their fleet. Ashley explained, “We move around 200-250 pallets daily, so having equipment that can seamlessly operate in our environment is critical. Linde’s reach trucks have proven to be incredibly reliable and well-suited for our workload.”
Each reach truck is equipped with innovative features, including the Linde BlueSpot safety light, a digital weight indicator, and an aftermarket CCTV camera fitted locally. These innovations have enhanced their workplace safety and operator efficiency.
Ashley remarked, “The safety cameras have been beneficial for our operations. They guide our staff as they move pallets in and out of the racking, especially at higher levels, by providing a clear view of where the tynes are positioned. Our previous forklifts didn’t have cameras, which meant operators often had to strain to see where the tynes needed to go.” This addition of cameras has made a difference in both precision and efficiency for InterCentral Logistics’ racking operations.
The Linde BlueSpot light also plays a vital role in ensuring operational safety. “The BlueSpot light is great to ensure there are no pedestrians within three meters of the truck, helping to maintain OH&S compliance.”
Switching to Linde’s equipment was seamless, thanks to the dedicated team at Linde.
“Mia and the Linde team made the buying process easy,” Ashley said. “We had to have a few modifications made to a couple of units—that was done without any issue. It’s been very easy for us.”
Mia explained further, “Linde encouraged a demo where we could showcase our features. The customer staff were all happy from the start; they found the equipment easy to operate. They took on five rental units while waiting for their equipment to arrive. During the rental period, they loved the service from Linde, noting response times were quick and issues were resolved promptly. By the time their units arrived, they had a lot of confidence in us.”
Ashley also highlighted the minimal downtime and high reliability of the Linde reach trucks, both during the rental period and since the arrival of the purchased units. “The reliability is excellent. The equipment was delivered in clean condition and has required very little maintenance.”
Reflecting on the partnership, Ashley emphasised, “I’d hope to see a Linde fleet across all our warehouses. The machines are durable, easy to operate, and supported by excellent customer service. Linde has set themselves apart with their reliability and the simplicity of their solutions.”
