The three types of safety warnings

The Linde Safety Guard system uses a series of transmitters positioned on trucks, walls, racks and carried by personnel. These transmitters allow the system to precisely determine the position of objects, equipment and people to a 10cm accuracy and will emit an acoustic, visual and haptic warning signal where a potential collision is detected. 

The receiver in the trucks will indicate how many other trucks and pedestrian personnel are approaching and from which direction, and the pedestrian’s transmitter will in turn alert them to the potential danger. 

The system works through walls and racking to help prevent hazardous situations even around corners or through doors.

Speed restriction zones

High traffic and blindspot areas in warehouses will often lead to increased collisions. Speed restriction zones can be pre-defined and programmed to automatically reduce the trucks speed when they enter these areas. This minimises accidents between trucks and people in higher risk areas such as production, order picking and busy intersections. 

Speed restriction zones can also be applied to long stretches where truck operators might be tempted to speed.

How the Linde Safety System can be setup in a warehouse

Door control

Using door control, trucks can automatically open roller doors by approaching them at a reduced speed. Where there are several roller doors nearby, spatial proximity of the truck ensures the correct door is activated and opened. 

When a door is activated at the same time a pedestrian is nearby, a warning is triggered to alert them both know.
