When your business runs across both manufacturing and import-export operations, forklifts aren't an occasional tool, they're a constant presence. For Royal Gold Mills, finding equipment that could keep pace with that dual workload while actually reducing complexity was the goal.
"We manufacture flour here and also run an import-export business, so we're using forklifts across the whole operation," says Ram Kumar Mittal, Director of Royal Gold Mills.
The business had already seen what Baoli could do before expanding its fleet.
"We've had the same units at another site, and they've been working really well. Since then, whenever we need equipment, we consider Baoli."
Switching to Lithium-ION made Commercial Sense
Royal Gold Mills didn't make the decision lightly. The team evaluated the market thoroughly before committing. "When we're buying something, we always look around and compare. We chose Baoli because it was a good product for what we needed."
The fleet now includes a Baoli KBET20 three-wheel forklift and KBE25 counterbalance forklift — both lithium-ION electric units that align with the site's sustainability setup and day-to-day efficiency requirements.
The business has solar panels on site, which turned out to be a natural fit for electric forklifts. "We have solar on site, so we can charge the forklifts directly. It's more economical, and there's less maintenance, which was important for us." Plus, opportunity charging has removed the overnight charging burden entirely. "They charge very quickly. Even during lunch breaks, the team can plug them in and top them up, so there's no need to leave them charging overnight."
Equipment that Handles the Full Workload
Across the facility, the forklifts are put to work constantly, covering everything from internal stock movements to truck loading and dispatch. "We're picking up pallets, loading trucks, moving stock around — everything we do involves the forklifts."
With different working environments across the site, having the right unit for each space was important. "We went with the three-wheel unit for the smaller spaces, and a larger unit for heavier work. Both have been working well for us."
Operators have taken to the equipment quickly, with the handling quality drawing particular praise.
"The lifting is smooth, and overall the machines are very comfortable to use."
After-Sales Support that Continues to Deliver
For Royal Gold Mills, the relationship didn't end at delivery. Ongoing follow-up from the team has reinforced confidence in the decision.
"The service has been very good. Even after delivery, we still get follow-ups to make sure everything is running as it should."
Mittal is unambiguous about the overall experience: "I'd rate the experience 10 out of 10. We've been very happy."
And for any business still on the fence about making a similar move, his advice is direct: "If you're thinking about it, I'd say go ahead and buy Baoli."
