Alliance Transport treads carefully when it comes to purchasing assets, especially when projected usage doesn’t justify purchasing new equipment. Now that policy has added a used Linde forklift to its resources with immediate success.
The company recently moved into new Sydney offices and its first warehouse. Suddenly a forklift truck with the ability to unload pallets became a necessity for this container transport specialist. Timing played a major role in what happened next. Linde had just come on board as a partner of Road Freight NSW, where Alliance Transport managing director, John Preston is chairman of the container section.

“Linde is supporting the road freight industry and I thought it would be a good opportunity to support Linde – if the deal and the forklift represented good value. I also wanted to confirm for myself that the partnership with Linde could be a good one for our members.
“When we moved into our warehouse just before Christmas last year our need for a forklift which could unload shipping containers was urgent. Linde examined our needs and likely usage pattern then suggested a refurbished Linde 392 series container mast forklift as the most cost effective option. I wanted to have a forklift in action quickly, but I wanted to buy a used one in excellent condition.”

That has now arrived and our forklift operator couldn’t be happier with its performance. It’s quiet and clean and looks brand new. The refurbishment process is obviously very thorough.

Aside from the quality of the forklift we purchased I was also very impressed by the very professional manner in which the whole transaction was carried out.”
